A contemporary Filipino zarzuela in three acts, set in a typical Filipino community. Featuring songs, an exquisite display of national dress; an excellent cast of singers led by multi-awarded actor and producer Armida Siguion-Reyna, with Rachelle Gerodias, Richard Reynoso, Cris Villonco, Miguel Castro, Bayang Barrios, Raul Montesa, Lirio Vital and Bo Cerrudo, from the direction of Carlos Siguion-Reyna — the program gives us continuing reason to be proud of who we are and what we are as a people.It has been lauded by the Philippine Daily Inquirer's Conrado de Quiros for its real gems in "the songs and the singing… proving that the kundiman, like 'Aawitan' itself, did not die… but flourishes today….
