The Karaoke Championship held Saturday at Seafood City certainly lives up to expectations, with contestants displaying remarkable singing prowess. The scores never went below 98, and the competition initially ended with a tie between two contestants.
It took two tie-breaking numbers for a winner to emerge and finally take home the grand prize. Grand prize is a Magic Sing unit and $300 Seafood City gift certificates.
Seafood City Karaoke Champion Louie Roa is from Portland, but frequently visits the marketplace with his family. The 35-year old accountant sang popular tunes such as "You are my Destiny," "Skyline Pigeon," and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."
The event was made even more exciting with an electrifying performance by multi- awarded performer Fe de los Reyes, who was special guest at the championship.
